According to data provided by Sky Group, approximately 59% of individuals in the UK who admitted to watching pirated content via a physical device used an Amazon product. This statistic underscores the significant market penetration of Fire TV in relation to unauthorized streaming activities.

Amazon, a major player in the streaming market through its Prime Video service, has refuted these allegations. A company spokesperson emphasized their commitment to combating piracy by collaborating with industry partners and authorities. The Enders Analysis report also criticized other technology companies, such as Google and Microsoft, for the perceived inadequacies in their digital rights management (DRM) systems, Widevine and PlayReady. These systems are described as compromised and in need of significant improvements. Additionally, Meta (formerly Facebook) has been criticized for hosting advertisements that promote illegal streaming services.

The report estimates that Amazon's Fire TV devices are responsible for billions of dollars in piracy-related losses annually.
