AI Integration in Workforce Management
On Thu, May 22, 2025, Flip announced the successful raising of €25 million to enhance its software infrastructure for the 2.7 billion deskless workers globally. These workers, who constitute 80% of the workforce, often lack digital tools.
Founded in 2018 within Porsche, Flip is an all-in-one platform designed to connect field teams with support functions such as HR and internal communications. The platform digitalizes interactions within non-sedentary environments, including production lines, retail, healthcare, and logistics. It covers aspects such as scheduling, onboarding, knowledge management, feedback, and notifications.
In 2024, Flip acquired The Bot Platform, a UK-based company, to enhance its technology with low-code and AI-driven HR functionalities. This acquisition led to the introduction of "Flip Intelligence," a module automating shift planning, document management, feedback collection, and onboarding without third-party tools.
The platform aims to simplify and centralize tools for field teams, providing a unified mobile interface to replace fragmented software, messaging apps, spreadsheets, and physical notices.
Flip is utilized by over 500 companies, including McDonald’s , Rossmann , Bosch , and Porsche . The company has expanded internationally to markets such as Australia, Norway, and the United States, serving clients like Ben & Jerry’s and the Australian Football League .

Despite Flip's AI integration advantage, several French companies operate in the same domain:
Skello and Snapshift (now Combo ) focus on scheduling and field team management in sectors like hospitality and retail. ZestMeUp and Wittyfit address employee engagement and feedback. Workelo specializes in automating onboarding processes.
Flip differentiates itself by offering an integrated all-in-one solution, specifically designed for non-executive and industrial settings, with a focus on embedded AI.
Based in Stuttgart, Flip was founded in 2018 by Benedikt Brand . The company has raised a total of €52 million, including the recent €25 million Series A extension led by LEA Partners , HV Capital , Notion Capital , and Roland Berger .
