Weekera's New Shareholder Announcement

Founded in 2022, Weekera has rapidly established itself as a unique provider in the payroll and human resources management software market. Initially designed for accounting professionals, its SaaS platform operates on a collaborative model with over 80 accounting firms of various sizes across the country, which are shareholders and actively participate in feature development.

In 2023, Weekera conducted co-construction workshops with numerous firms. The following year, initial beta tests in real production environments validated payroll flows, integrating controlled automation mechanisms capable of halting processes in case of suspected errors. This hybrid approach, combining automation and supervision, addresses the primary concern of the industry to enhance productivity without compromising reliability.

Following a 2023 funding round of 6 million euros from Drakarys, the investment company established by the Order of Chartered Accountants, Weekera has welcomed a new minority shareholder: HG, a leading European investor specializing in B2B software. This operation was managed by Exponens Corporate Finance. The amount of the round has not been disclosed.

The European market for cloud-based payroll and HR solutions is experiencing robust growth, valued at approximately $3 billion in 2022, and projected to reach $5.66 billion by 2028. Specifically, France is expected to see even more significant expansion, with an estimated annual growth rate of 7.7% from 2024 to 2031 (KVB Research figures). On a broader scale, encompassing payroll solutions and HR services, the European market is valued at $45 billion in 2024 and could reach $75 billion by 2033.

Weekera operates in a landscape dominated by well-established international players. Among the leading companies are the American ADP and the Norwegian company Visma, a leader in accounting, payroll, and HR software, present throughout Europe. The French company Silae remains the dominant player in the sector, alongside historical players like Cegid and Sage, competing with startups such as Payfit and Malibou .
