Indy Acquires Coover Billing Software Ahead of 2026 Reform

On Mon, Aug 28, 2025, Indy.fr announced the strategic acquisition of Lycha, the billing software developed by insurtech Coover. This acquisition also includes the user bases of Coover Factu and Coover Devis, adding over 60,000 professionals to the 150,000 independent users already utilizing Indy's solutions.

The acquisition occurs as France prepares for a major regulatory shift in 2026, requiring all businesses to adopt electronic billing through government-approved Digitalization Partner Platforms (PDP). Indy is already approved as a PDP and positions itself as a key player in this transition.

Coover has chosen to refocus its efforts on its core business of professional insurance, having found the billing sector increasingly complex due to evolving regulations. Despite not raising funds, Coover continues to grow with over 15,000 clients, establishing itself as an agile market alternative.

Indy's acquisition of Coover's billing software not only expands its user base but also reinforces its mission to simplify administrative and accounting tasks for independent professionals. Indy offers a free electronic billing solution, which includes a professional account and pre-accounting services, with subscription plans starting at €12 per month for tax and social declarations.

Côme Fouques, CEO and co-founder of Indy, emphasized the importance of providing a simple, compliant, and free solution to help professionals focus on their core activities amidst upcoming regulatory changes.

This acquisition reflects a larger trend of market consolidation driven by the 2026 reform. Only those able to meet technical and regulatory demands while providing seamless user support will thrive. With €86 million raised since its inception and a team of 300 employees between Lyon and Paris, Indy is well-equipped to take on this role.
